About Me

img_1575

I write about gender, science, and popular culture for publications like BBC NewsNew Scientist, and Exeunt.

I’m particularly interested in the intersection of art and science, and would love to hear from you if this is relevant to your work or research!

Recently I ran a week-long series for the BBC’s 100 Women, celebrating Marie Curie’s 150th birthday by speaking to women working in science around the world.

I am a planetary scientist and a midwife by training. Yes, they are pretty much mutually exclusive, but icy moons and the human body are both incredible!

If you would like to get in touch about any of my work, you can drop me a line on mary@valiantdust.com or find me on Twitter @maryhalton
