About Me

I am a freelance writer, focusing on performance, science and popular culture.

I’m particularly interested in the intersection of art and science, and would love to hear from you if this is relevant to your work or research!

My work has been published in New ScientistAlphrThe Vagenda and the Huffington Post.

Much of my science writing is concerned with our place in the universe, and I have recently completed postgraduate study at Birkbeck, University of London, with a research focus on the cryovolcanism of Europa and Enceladus.

Currently, I wrangle radio productions. In the past I have worked with LIFT, Underbelly, the Bush, and a range of independent theatre companies, and produced events for the East End Film Festival.

I regularly read scripts for the BBC and was on the 2015 reading panel for Soho Theatre’s Verity Bargate Award.

If you would like to get in touch about any of my work, you can drop me a line on mary@valiantdust.com or find me on Twitter @maryhalton
